You’re Not as Good as You Think... 😏

But you will be after this weekend—master these 3 game-changing skills.

🏍️ The 3 Techniques Every Biker Should Master This Weekend

Because the Road Doesn’t Care How Long You’ve Been Riding…

I don’t care if you’ve been riding for 30 years or 30 minutes—there are always ways to level up your skills. The best riders? They’re not the ones with the flashiest bikes or the loudest pipes. They’re the ones who practice, refine, and keep learning.

So, here’s your challenge for this weekend: dedicate an hour to sharpening three must-know riding techniques that could save your hide, make your rides smoother, and earn you some serious road cred. Let’s go.

Technique 1
Counter-Steering: The Jedi Mind Trick of Cornering 🏍️

🔹 What It Is: Push left to go left, push right to go right. Sounds like sorcery, but it’s physics. At speeds above 10 mph, you don’t turn the bars in the direction you want to go—you push in the opposite direction. Trust me, this is the key to slicing through curves like butter.
🔹 How to Practice: Find a nice set of twisties (or an empty road), start at a chill speed, and apply slight pressure on the inside handlebar. Feel that lean? That’s control. That’s confidence.
🔹 Why It Matters: If you’re still muscling your bike through turns, you’re working way too hard. Counter-steering makes cornering smooth, stable, and—most importantly—fast.

Technique 2
Emergency Braking: Because "I Didn’t See It Coming" Is a Lame Excuse ⚠️

🔹 What It Is: Stopping on a dime without locking up, skidding, or panicking.
🔹 How to Practice: Take your bike to an empty lot. Get up to about 30 mph, then squeeze (not grab) both brakes while keeping your weight centered. If you have ABS, let it do its thing. No ABS? Learn to modulate your braking—your front wheel should be doing 70-80% of the work.
🔹 Why It Matters: Every seasoned rider has had a close call—a deer, a car that "didn’t see you," a rogue squirrel with a death wish. Your ability to stop fast could be the difference between a great story and a trip to the hospital.

Technique 3
Low-Speed Maneuvering: Because Dropping Your Bike in a Parking Lot is Embarrassing 🤦‍♂️

🔹 What It Is: Ever seen a biker glide through a tight U-turn like they’re floating? That’s low-speed control. And it’s what separates the weekend warriors from the real riders.
🔹 How to Practice: Hit an empty parking lot. Work on slow-speed figure eights and U-turns. Keep your head up (not at the ground!), use light throttle, and drag your rear brake for stability.
🔹 Why It Matters: You can do 100 mph on the highway? Cool. Can you make a tight turn in a gas station without waddling your feet like a newborn giraffe? Real skill is about control at every speed.

🔥 Pro Tip: Film Yourself Practicing!

Set up your phone or have a buddy record your drills. Watching yourself ride will reveal small mistakes you might not notice in the moment—and that’s how you fix ‘em fast.
