Sun, curves, and a near miss with a semi. Worth it.
šļø The Pic That Nearly Got Me Killedā¦
PLUS: Sun, curves, and a near miss with a semi. Worth it.
šø The Best Damn Scenery Snap I Ever Took š
š¦That Time I Almost Forgot To Breathe
I was riding through the Million Dollar Highway, that stretch of sinuous blacktop between Ouray and Silverton, Colorado ā like a dragonās spine with zero guardrails and maximum balls required. I came around a bend, sun dropping low, and BOOM ā the valley lit up like it was lit on fire by Thor himself. I pulled over, heart jackhammerinā, and just stared. Not because I was tired. Because I was stunned.
Snapped a pic, sure. But that photo? Doesnāt do the ride justice. No image ever does ā but we still chase āem. Why? āCause some scenery? It burns itself into your soul.
šļø Beauty Slaps Different From A Saddle
Letās be clear, folks ā roadside scenery on a bike is like sex with the gods. Yeah, I said it. Youāre exposed, raw, and right up in the belly of the world. You donāt see the scenery, you feel it. In your lungs. In your boots. Sometimes in your damn spine if the roadās cracked enough.
You ever:
Watch the fog creep over the Blue Ridge like itās sneaking in to rob the Earth blind?
Catch the desert bleeding orange across Utah's horizon like the road's on fire?
See the Badlands at dusk and feel like the dinosaurs might still be watching?
If not ā change that.
š· How To Nail The Perfect āHoly Sh*tā Shot
Forget your fancy camera. Half you fools donāt even wipe your damn helmet visor.
Hereās what you really need:
š¤ Ride First, Snap Second
If you're stopping every 5 minutes to get your Instagram on, you're missing the actual ride. Enjoy the moment. Then shoot.
š Look For The Contrast
Light versus shadow. Sky versus mountain. Cracked road against perfect clouds. Tension makes beauty.
ā±ļø Golden Hour Is God Mode
Sunrise or sunset. That's when Mama Nature puts on her leather, revs the sky, and gives you her best.
š§ Get Off The Damn Road
Literally. Park that beast, walk 20 steps away, climb a rock, lie in the grass. The angle aināt on the shoulder, itās where the air hits different.
š§ Pro Tip: Your Best Photo Aināt About The View ā Itās About The Memory š§Ø
That snap? It aināt just pixels. Itās a timestamp on your soul. A reminder you lived. Wind in your teeth, bugs in your beard, heart in your throat. You wanna feel that again? Then ride like every twist is your last and snap like it matters to someone else.
